The Cosmopolitan cocktail is not just famous for being enjoyed by Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. It is a smooth (and admittedly, usually vodka-based) fruity tipple enjoyed the world over.
The London Essence Company has taken inspiration from this classic cocktail recipe and added their own delicious twist: switching out the usual martini glass for a taller highball glass, adding their own Pomelo and Pink Pepper Tonic Water to the usual ingredients (Cointreau and lime juice), and replacing the vodka with gin. The result is a spectacular, bubbly, spritz-like version of the Cosmo that is perfect for spring and summer (and autumn and winter for that matter)!
The London Essence Co.’s Cosmo Highball
20ml London dry gin (we recommend Dodd’s Gin for its bright, fresh palette - available in our members’ store)
15ml Cointreau
10ml lime juice
125ml The London Essence Co. Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic, chilled
Rose petals, to garnish (available online)
Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour over the gin, Cointreau, lime juice and tonic. Garnish and serve.
