Top gin trends for spring 2022 you need to know about!

It’s March which means one thing: a new season is en route - hooray! As nature rejuvenates itself, here at Craft Gin Club, we’re feeling like we’ve turned a new leaf too.

The spring season often brings delight, beautiful blooms, and a new sense of energy! So what does that mean for us gin lovers, our tasting habits and the gins we’re reaching for? Apart from longer evenings (hopefully in the garden) spent sipping delicious G&Ts? Well, you’re about to find out…

From growing your own garnishes to a taste for all things passion fruit, this is everything you need to know (and expect) from the ginny world in spring 2022.

With spring finally on our doorsteps, the craze for sunny and exotic flavours can only mean one thing… we’re all ready for a bit of sun!

The desire for tropical gin flavours has exploded recently, with searches for ‘tropical passion fruit gin’ on Google up over 1400%!

If you've been tempted by some of the new tropical passion fruit gins from the likes of Aldi and Gordons, why not make your own passion fruit gin - (here’s our easy peasy how to…). It’s easier and quicker than you think - and you only need three ingredients.

After acquiring many fans through the porn star martini (have you tried our Gin Star Martini?), this sweet-but-tart flavour is being incorporated into gin & cocktails everywhere.

2. Floral gins are favoured

Now that the flowers are beginning to grow, is it any surprise we’re craving aromatic floral craft gins to match? With delicious botanicals from elderflower to lavender, floral gins are officially in bloom.

With an emphasis on home-grown herbs and local flowers, we’re game for all things garden-inspired. First, check out these pretty floral gin glasses. Next, treat yourselves to our stunning April 2020 Gin of the Month, Perfume Trees Gin - it strikes the perfect balance of fragrant and floral.

Another one of our favourite floral gins? Theodore Pictish Gin - it’s a gorgeous floral-yet-woody tasting gin with notes of damask rose, oolong tea, and chamomile.

3. Colour pop craze

After a turbulent two years, we’re seeking out joy in every single thing. Maximalism is having a moment, and that means perking up all aspects of your day: from your clothes to your interior - and yes - that goes for your gin glasses too!

The ‘go bright or go home’ mantra means we’re reaching for gin that has a beautiful pop of mood-boosting colour, like the bright pink Tarquin’s Hibiscus and Lemon Gin, and these dreamy eye-catching gin balloon glasses.

We feel happier just looking at them… so the more flamboyant your barware choices, the better. And if that’s an excuse to buy more gin glassware, we won’t say no!

And the same goes for cocktails: there’s been a huge surge in popularity for colour-changing gin, known as Butterly Fly Pea gin - just think of the creative cocktails you can make as it turns from deep blue to vibrant indigo!

More is most definitely more, so feast your eyes on bright pops of colour and jazzy designs galore…

4. No waste for the win

According to a survey in July 2021, 41% of Brits said it was very important that the products they purchased needed to be eco-friendly and sustainable.

There's nothing better than sipping something that you know is kind to the planet to boot. The wonderfully smooth pink gin 58 Gin Apple & Hibiscus not only tastes fantastic but does its bit for the planet by using surplus Cox apples that would otherwise go to waste. Genius!

Want in on the trend but not sure where to start? Why not begin by planting your own herbs to enjoy as a delicious fresh garnish, or choosing a refill pouch (like our special Schofe’s Winter Gin) over a glass bottle?
