Gin and Tonic ice cream... and 4 other gin recipes to beat the heat!
Whether you’re spending summer in your back garden, your balcony or are lucky enough to be on holiday - these 5 refreshing recipes will certainly help you beat the heat. And here at Craft Gin Club, we all know how rewarding that first sip of a chilled beverage is on a hot day…
From fabulous fruity frozen cocktails (and there’s more where that came from here) to beautifully boozy desserts (ginny affogato, anyone?) - we’ve got you covered. These refreshing ideas will help keep you cool, and all involve our favourite spirit… craft gin! Let us know your favourites over on our Facebook - and make sure you share your creations with us!
Frozen Watermelon Gimlet
Watermelon is synonymous with hot holidays, so when the weather here reflects it, it’s time to whip up this Frozen Watermelon Gimlet. If you love the classic gimlet (simply gin and lime), then try this fruitier version. Equal parts zingy and fruity, it only takes seconds to make!
Orange Frogoni
Negroni lovers, listen up: if you love a classic cocktail, this frozen version will be your heatwave hero! With the usual gin, Campari and vermouth - this bright, orange-flavoured, frozen take on the classic is not one to miss. It’s essentially a ginny Slush Puppy, so you really can’t go far wrong. If you’re after a summery, juicy sip, give this a go and thank us later.
Boozy Affogato
We can’t think of a summer dessert that ticks so many of our boxes… Gin? Check. Coffee? Check. Ice cream? Check. And this classic Italian dessert is even better thanks to the addition of Elephant Gin Coffee Liqueur, from the team at Elephant Gin. It’s nutty, sweet, and will give you a little buzz to boot.
Frozen Gin on the Beach
This is our wonderful summery cocktail from August’s 2022 Gin of the Month box, and boy is it a beauty! This Gin on the Beach cocktail (our ginny take on the popular Sex on the Beach tipple) has the perfect heatwave twist - with a mouth-watering frozen version. So, if you need a sip to cool you down, look no further. It’s fruity, sweet, and citrusy - get your blender at the ready!
Gin & Tonic Ice Cream
If your favourite tipple is an ice-cold G&T (us, too!), then this gorgeous dessert version will be your summer treat go-to. It’s easier to make than you think, and pairs perfectly with a light elderflower jelly. We suggest using a juniper-forward craft gin to really take the taste to another level. Does it get any better than this during the summer months?
