Micil Irish Gin wins big at top gin awards

Micil Distillery, the craftsmen behind our October Gin of the Month, have won big with their signature expression at the World Gin Awards. 

Micil Irish Gin came away with the gong for Best Contemporary Irish Gin. Inspired by the Ó Griallais family’s heritage of poitín distillation, Micil Irish Gin features 17 botanicals, including four handpicked from the local area: bog bean, bog myrtle, heather and hawberry. 

These key botanicals were also featured in October 2021’s Gin of the Month: Micil Spiced Orange Irish Gin. Distilled exclusively for Craft Gin Club members, this beautiful autumnal edition beat out hundreds of other gins for a coveted Gin of the Month slot. Craft Gin Club’s expert tasting team tries hundreds of gins for every 12 chosen.
