The Summer Daisy: the gin, grapefruit, elderflower & camomile cocktail that's made for garden parties!
Elderflower and gin are two popular flavours well-known to be a delicious pairing in cocktails, from the sparkling delight that is the Elderflower & Prosecco Gin Spritz to the refreshingly fruity summer sip that is the English Garden apple, gin and elderflower drink.
Perhaps slightly less commonly known is the additional element of chamomile. However, this delicate floral flavour complements elderflower - and gin - brilliantly. In the recipe below, the Summer Daisy, we’ve mixed them with grapefruit juice for a subtly floral cocktail, perfect for the summer!
We’ve used a chamomile-infused gin to give the cocktail just the slightest hint of floral flavour. (Note: you could easily leave out the chamomile and simply use a standard gin - the cocktail will be just as nice!)
To make the gin, simply add 3g of chamomile to 150ml gin and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Strain and it’s ready to use!
The Daisy is a style of cocktail where a sour has a little splash of soda added to lighten it, and is usually served over crushed or shaved ice to enjoy in hot weather. It also happens to be the name of the flower that looks like chamomile… oh, we love it when a plan comes together! Happy sipping, gin lovers!

25ml grapefruit juice
