Do the rounds with Mr. Mackintosh, Rock Rose Gin Distillery's number one pooch!
Meet Mr. Mackintosh, the host with the most at Rock Rose Distillery. He’s a key member of the team up there in Scotland’s Dunnet Bay and is part of the reason why Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition Gin, the stunning gin that our members have in their August 2020 Gin of the Month box, is so fabulous.
Follow him and his signature red bandanna as he does his daily rounds about the distillery, checking on things and making sure that everything is ship-shape and up to scratch. Nothing gets past him!
One of the marvellous Mr. Mackintosh’s first jobs of the day is to check on the distillery’s shop. This is an important place for the distillery, not only because they have their own amazing tipples on display, like their seasonal gins and their Holy Grass Vodka, but they also support local businesses by stocking their products too. So it is very important for Mr. Mackintosh to make sure everything is looking beautiful.
Next on Mr. Mackintosh’s route is the distillery’s gorgeous tasting room. Now this luxurious parlour is all about the comfort of the distillery’s guests and making sure they have the most wonderful gin tasting experience possible. So Mr. Mackintosh makes it his duty to see to it that the lighting is just right, that the fixtures gleam and the furniture is as comfy as can be.
Then Mr. Mackintosh heads behind the scenes to check on the bottles. Product checks are vital to Rock Rose Gin Distillery’s operation. Mr. Mackintosh’s keen eye for detail is invaluable to the team, and he is certainly not afraid to lay down the law if he sees anything out of place - not on his watch, especially when he knows Rock Rose bottles will be heading out to discerning Craft Gin Club members!
From there, Mr. Mackintosh likes to grab some fresh air and stretch his legs, so it’s off to the shrubbery he trots. The garden is not only a pretty space to relax and enjoy the sun at Rock Rose Gin Distillery, it’s also a fantastic larder from which the distillers can collect botanicals. Mr. Mackintosh therefore takes it upon himself to chase away any pests or vermin that could hinder the gin, and he also makes sure all of the bushes and shrubs are kept pristine. He won’t suffer any eye-saws, making sure every bush is trimmed to perfection.
A keen horticulturist, Mr. Mackintosh always includes a trip to the geodome at Rock Rose Gin Distillery while on his rounds. Like the garden, the plants in the geodome are key to the incredible flavours in every tipple Rock Rose Gin Distillery makes. This means that it’s of the utmost importance to Mr. Mackintosh that the flora grown in there are all healthy. He often takes it upon himself to do a thorough inspection.
After a hard day’s work, Mr. Mackintosh likes to end the day by rewarding himself with a medal of excellence. Then it’s off for some food and a well-earned snooze and a cuddle in front of the telly.
Thanks for letting us join you on your rounds today, Mr. Mackintosh!
