This frozen cranberry, mint, chocolate and gin cocktail is the boozy Christmas milkshake of your dreams!
This creamy milkshake-like gin cocktail is fun and fabulous and brimming with Christmas cheer! It mixes some of our favourite festive flavours to perfection: lots of gin (of course!), chocolate, cranberries and minty candy canes!
The candy canes are represented here by the fragrant Giffard Menthe De Pastille, a fantastic peppermint liqueur! Aromatic Angostura Cocoa Bitters add chocolatey tones and a delightful, warming spice like only Angostura can (Craft Gin Club members can find Angostura Cocoa Bitters in their December 2021 Gin of the Month box!). The cranberry juice brings fruity, sweet-tart notes that are a completely mouthwatering partner to the chocolate and mint flavours. Last but definitely not least, the gin then adds complexity and a rich juniper base that is utterly moreish!
All added to a blender with ice, they make for one gin-credible Christmas cocktail that is sure to impress all of your gin pals.
Frozen Cranberry, Chocolate & Mint Gin Shake
For a dairy-free, vegan-friendly version of this cocktail, try swapping out the cream for two tablespoons of coconut cream - the results will be just as decadently divine!
45ml gin
10ml Simple Syrup
30ml double cream
75ml cranberry juice
2 dashes Angostura Cocoa Bitters
15ml Giffard Menthe De Pastille
Mint spring or candy cane, to garnish
Add all the ingredients to a blender with five ice cubes and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and garnish with a mint sprig and/or a candy cane.
