How is Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin made?
Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin is made by the Archie Rose Distilling Co. in Sydney, using botanicals that are unique to Australia.
These include Sunrise Lime and Geraldton Waxflower (both native to Western Australia), and Dorrigo Pepperleaf sourced from Northern New South Wales.
Those carefully chosen botanicals are then distilled with juniper and a base spirit in specially designed 500-litre and 3000-litre copper pot-column hybrid vacuum stills.
These state-of-the-art pieces of equipment allow the team at Archie Rose to cold-distil certain aromatics, eliminating the detrimental impact of heat on delicate botanicals and thereby allowing for more experimentation with flavour combinations.
The stills also boast over 12 different configurations, ensuring that the best flavour is extracted from every ingredient.
The finished craft gin is then bottled in Archie Rose's icon green glass bottles and sent out to gin lovers across Australia and to Craft Gin Clubbers in their June 2024 Gin of the Month box.
Where is Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin made?
Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin is made at Archie Rose's new, modern Botany Distillery, just a few kilometres away from Rosebery, where the Archie Rose Distilling Co. first began distilling gin, in Sydney, Australia.
Gin fans can visit the Archie Rose Distillery and stay for a cocktail at their bar - so if you're ever in Sydney, be sure to stop by!
Who is the founder of Archie Rose?
The founder of Archie Rose Distilling Co. is Sydney-born Will Edwards.
He followed his love of gin and distilling and set out to create the first distillery in the City of Sydney since the mid-1800s.
In 2014, he launched the Archie Rose brand with Head Distiller, Dave Withers, and Head of Hospitality, Harriet Leigh.
Why is it called "Archie Rose" gin?
The name "Archie Rose" was inspired by the Archie Rose distillery's first location in Rosebery, Syndey, and some of the area's earliest residents.
What does Archie Rose taste like?
Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin is a classic London Dry gin that combines juniper, citrus, and herb flavours.
On the nose, fresh pine meets zesty citrus to create a bright and inviting bouquet.
The palate has a bold backbone of juniper which merges seamlessly with fresh garden herb notes.
The finish is long and bursting with joyous sweet lemon and lime tones.
