This marvellous gin cocktail recipe takes the berry-licious tones of a classic Bramble and transforms them into a smooth tipple that’s got an extra-fiery kick from the addition of fresh ginger and an added autumnal flare from the use of apple juice as a beautiful mixer. The flamed orange peel and sparkler garnishes then add smoky aromas that take this gin tipple to the next level. There are no other cocktails quite like it!
Warning: Please do remember to blow the sparkler out and remove from the glass safely before taking a sip!
Bonfire Bramble
Ingredients
50ml gin (Whitby Gin Bramble & Bay Edition is a great pick for this cocktail)
1 heaped tsp blackcurrant jam
3 pieces chopped ginger
60ml apple juice
Burnt orange peel or zest, to garnish
Method
Add gin and the jam to a cocktail shaker and stir. Add the ginger and add the apple juice. Add ice then shake and strain into a cocktail coupe. To make your garnish, take an orange peel and squeeze over an open flame. Add a sparkler and voila, you have the perfect cocktail for Bonfire Night!
