Celebrating our good folk with Soda Folk!

In June’s Gin of the Month box, we introduced our members to Soda Folk, who not only make the most delicious tasting sodas (perfect for mixing in a ginny cocktail and available on our online shop here!) but also celebrate the good folk that make the world a better place, by illustrating these unsung heroes on their lovely soda cans! We loved this idea so much so that we asked our members to nominate the good-folk in their lives - those that they think deserve to recognised for their acts of kindness - to be in with the chance of having their everyday heroes commemorated with their very own Soda Folk can illustration (PLUS a generous supply of gin & cherry soda!).

We received so many amazing entries, and are thrilled to announce our wonderful winners below!

Monthly member Kiara M., nominated her partner Simon, who both being nurses, had to make the tough decision to isolate from their children during the Covid pandemic. Kiara entered the competition as she wanted a way to recognise just how amazing Simon had been throughout everything, continuing to be an incredible support and mental rock, while always having a glass of gin ready for her after a long day! They’re both so thrilled to have won this prize, as the Knickerbocker Glory cocktail has fast become one of their new favourite drinks, perfect for summer nights in the garden or to just relax after a hard shift.

Power-lifting coach, Stan, was nominated by Christine T. for being an all round good-egg! Stan volunteers with young people with special needs, and over his 60 years of coaching has been an inspiration and mentor for countless people in the community. Stan’s the man!

Last but by no means least, Christopher P. nominated his friends Scott & Sarah, who run his local village pub! They have gone above and beyond during lockdown, working hard to supply the shielding members of the community with supermarket essentials whilst their own pub was temporarily shut. They’ve shown true community spirit in what has been a tough time for so many. Now that certainly deserves some gin!
