A boozy iced tea from Down Under!
We are in love with this boozy iced tea recipe from the team at Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers, who distilled our fabulous February 2021 Gin of the Month, Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers House Gin. They have even named it after one of the distillery’s Co-founders, Nicole Durdin!
With the fragrant Lady Gray as the tea of choice, this mouthwatering iced tea is aromatic and rich with ginny juniper and lighter citrus notes. The elderflower cordial then adds a floral touch that perfectly pairs with Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers House Gin.
Be sure to make a big batch of tea, one round of this cocktail will never be enough!
Nicole’s Iced Tea
Ingredients
150ml Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers House Gin
450ml Lady Grey Tea
50ml lemon juice
100ml Simple Syrup
75ml elderflower cordial
Grapefruit and/or lemon slices, to garnish
Method
First, you’ll need to make the tea, this method should give you the perfect brew for this recipe: Steep 5 tea bags in a litre of boiled water (you’ll only need half of the tea, but save some for a second batch). After 5 minutes, remove and dispose of the teabags and then refrigerate the tea to cool it down.
Mix 450ml of the tea with the remaining ingredients. Quarter fill your favourite jug with ice and add a handful of grapefruit and lemon slices. Pour the iced tea mixture over the ice, into the jug. Vigorously stir and you’re ready to pour. Serve in a highball tumbler, filled with ice and a wedge of grapefruit or lemon.
Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers House Gin is also the perfect gin for this Gin Thyme cocktail recipe and this Strawberry Sour that’s like no other. Give them a go today!
