When there’s a celebration, the drink of choice is - traditionally - a flute of sparkling champagne. But did you know you that gin marries beautifully with champagne? Yes, it’s time to embrace the new and jazz up the classic tipple of choice with this delicious combination the next time you’re thinking of popping that cork!
Here at Craft Gin Club, we have so many amazing cocktails using this simple but punchy duo to choose from, but we’ve whittled them down and handpicked 10 of our favourite champagne and gin cocktail recipes.
These are all very simple to make at home, whether you’re making a big batch for a big occasion, an aperitif for a small dinner party, or you just want to treat yourself to something a bit special while watching Strictly Come Dancing on TV. Time to break out the bubbly!

Sparkling Apple Gin Cocktail
30ml gin
50ml apple juice
Squeeze of lemon juice
Champagne, to top up
Star anise, to garnish (optional)
Add the gin, apple juice, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled glass. (Alternatively, add all your ingredients to a glass filled with ice and stir gently for a minute.) Top up with Champagne. Garnish with a slice of apple or a single star anise.
Pomegranate Gin Fizz
25ml gin
50ml pomegranate juice
Champagne, to top up
Pomegranate seeds to garnish
Mix gin and pomegranate juice in your chilled coupe glass. Top up with champagne, garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and a sprig of mint, then serve immediately.
Cucumber Gin Spritz
Third of a fresh cucumber
30ml gin
15ml simple syrup* (or elderflower cordial)
100ml Champagne
Soda water
Strip of cucumber and mint sprig, to garnish
Slice the cucumber into small pieces, muddle in an ice-packed cocktail shaker, and add the gin and syrup. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Add Champagne. Top up with soda water. Finally, garnish with the strip of cucumber and sprig of mint.
Hedgerow Fizz
50ml Champagne
25ml sloe gin
25ml cherry brandy
A few good squeezes of lemon juice
Add the sloe gin, lemon juice and cherry brandy to a chilled flute glass and gently stir. Top up with Champagne and garnish with your preferred berries. (For a less boozy version, replace the cherry brandy with elderflower cordial.)
French 75
50ml gin
10ml simple syrup*
20ml lemon juice
50ml Champagne
Lemon twist, to garnish
In a cocktail shaker packed with ice, combine the gin, simple syrup and juice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds, until the cocktail shaker is cold to the touch. Strain into a flute and top with Champagne. Garnish with the lemon twist.
Sparkling Bees Knees
35ml gin
20ml honey
20ml lemon juice
70ml Champagne
Combine the gin, honey and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe and top up with Champagne.
Lavender & Elderflower Gin FIzz
25 ml gin
25 ml of lavender simple syrup
25 ml of St. Germain elderflower liqueur
Champagne
Lavender sprig, to garnish
Add the lavender syrup, gin and St. Germain to a champagne flute or deep coupe and top up with Champagne. Garnish with a sprig of fresh lavender.
Orange 75
30ml gin
15ml freshly squeezed orange juice
15ml orange simple syrup*
Champagne or orange wine
Add the gin, juice and orange simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 5-10 seconds. Strain into a champagne flute and top with ice cold Champagne or orange wine. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
*To make orange simple syrup: gently heat 100g granulated sugar and 100ml orange juice for about five minutes, stirring throughout, until the sugar dissolves and the liquid reduces to a treacly texture, then leave to cool before using.
Damson Gin Royale
25ml damson gin
Champagne, to top up
Edible gold sprinkles (optional)
Add your damson gin to a chilled glass and top up with Champagne. For a little extra sparkle, add a few edible gold sprinkles! You can also substitute sloe gin for the damson gin, as an alternative.
Grapefruit Wheel Fizz
30ml gin
40ml grapefruit juice (ideally freshly squeezed)
15ml sugar syrup (optional)
Champagne, to top up
Fresh grapefruit wheel and/or rosemary sprig, to garnish
Pour your gin and juice into a chilled champagne flute and stir. If you like, add a little sugar syrup or honey to sweeten (you may need this if you are using freshly squeezed juice, rather than shop-bought juice, which often contains added sugar - adjust to your taste.) Top up with Champagne.
Garnish your glass with a further slice of graepfruit; a little rosemary stem also works well here.
