Could this be the most glamorous gin joint ever?

Just metres from the Eurostar terminal, directly off the Western Concourse of the world’s greatest railway station, a classy gin joint with Continental credentials beckons.
GNH Bar, tucked in the ground floor of the elegant Great Western Hotel, is the perfect pit stop before you head on your summer holidays – or upon your return, should you be wishing to banish the post-holiday blues with a well-made cocktail or two.
As a Continental-style railway bar, GNH Bar couldn’t be in a better place. The hotel it sits under opened its doors in 1884 as one of the first purpose-built railway hotels in the country, providing luxury accommodation for customers of Great Northern Railway Company.
Designed by Lewis Cubitt along the original curve of Pancras Road, the hotel was left in disrepair for more than a decade. But a recent regeneration has brought it back to life, retaining many of the original features whilst creating a sophisticated haunt with a big dose of French flair.
You can stop by GNH Bar from 7am to late at night, making this a great joint regardless of when your train pulls into the station. Making your way in directly from the concourse, you’ll be met by gleaming tile floors and a spectacular curved bar, with glimmering chandeliers acting as an elegant centrepiece to truly set the scene.
Part Parisian chic, part modernist Manhattan, it’s easy to while away the hours at GNH Bar – especially when you get a look at their cocktail list.
Alongside classics like the Clover Club and the Martinez, the bar has a series of signature cocktails to enjoy. Whether you go for The Last Geisha – a floral combination of gin, grapes, jasmine tea and lemongrass – or the Aviation-inspired Blue Velvet – gin, lemon, maraschino liqueur, Prosecco and a lavender and créme de violette foam – there’s a signature cocktail to surprise and delight every gin lover.
Add to that a healthy list of perfect serves, Parisian-style outdoor seating and an all-day menu of small plates designed by acclaimed chef Mark Sargeant and GNH Bar is more than a glamorous gateway to Europe; it’s the perfect start of any ginny journey.
