This restaurant wants to pay a 'Gin Butler' to drink gin all day
Polish up those CVs, because we've just found every gin lover’s #DreamJob.
The Redherring bar and restaurant in Lowenstoft is now recruiting a ‘Gin Butler’, and the job spec is as good as it sounds: drink and discuss gin all day long.
To hear the words "You're Hired" you’ll need to be culturally refined and have been drinking our favourite tipple for at least three years. If you get the role you’ll be in charge of expanding the restaurant’s gin list (which currently stands at a respectable 32) and hosting a number of gin-based events, including a fortnightly Gin Club.
As Owner Andrew Kettlewell said: “We require a ‘gin butler’ due to the upsurge in the popularity of gin in our restaurant and also the increase in demand for our fortnightly gin club. We may even have to run it weekly, as we do have a large waiting list for people wanting to attend.”
With a salary of £22,000, the successful candidate will need to know their gin – including which mixers and garnishes to serve each spirit with – and keep one finger on the pulse of the trendy spirits world.
Andrew said: “At the Redherring, we want to give people an alternative experience to the normal night out, and ‘up the game’ on what our area can offer drinkers and diners.”
The deadline for applications is October 24th, but you may want to get your CV in early – Andrew has already had over 50 applications! You can find the Redherring’s contact details here.
